Seattle Interior &
Architectural Photographer

If your work deserves to be seen in publications, proposals and portfolios, it deserves photography that does it justice. I'm Emily Barrows, a Seattle-area interior and architectural photographer working with interior designers, architects, builders, and design-build firms throughout Seattle and the greater Puget Sound region.

A cozy dining nook with a round white table, two wooden chairs with upholstered seats, an L-shaped green velvet bench, a bowl of green apples, a large window with black frames revealing lush greenery outside, a modern geometric chandelier hanging from the ceiling, a framed landscape painting on the wall, and dark hardwood floors.

Photography that works as hard as you do

Great interior photography isn't just beautiful, it's strategic. Every image I create is built for the places your work needs to appear: your website, award submissions, editorial pitches, client proposals, and social media. I understand how Seattle's design community works and what your clients and editors are looking for, because I've spent over 25 years creating imagery at the intersection of fine art and commercial purpose.

Two beds with white linens and gold velvet pillows in a bedroom with large windowed walls showing a view of water and trees outside, green and gold curtain drapes, a wooden bedside table with a small flower arrangement, a lamp, and an ornate ceiling light fixture.

Seattle projects I photograph

Whether you're based in Capitol Hill, Bellevue, Kirkland, or anywhere across the greater Seattle metro, I'll travel to your project. I work with Seattle-area design and construction professionals on:

  • Residential interiors and full-home renovations

  • Kitchen and bath remodels

  • Custom home builds

  • Commercial and hospitality spaces

  • Architect and design-build firm portfolios

How a shoot works

1.) PRE-PRODUCTION

Before shoot day, we work through everything needed to make the day run smoothly. This includes an initial phone call or meeting to discuss your project and priorities, a pre-shoot site visit if helpful, and a detailed shot list so nothing gets missed. I'll send over my terms and a 50% deposit invoice to confirm the booking.

2.) SHOOT DAY

After arriving and getting setup, I get to work. I move through each area methodically, adjusting furniture and styling details as needed to get the best from every shot. Some setups come together quickly; others I'll spend considerable time on to get the light and composition exactly right. My priority is always the final image, not the clock.

3.) POST-PRODUCTION

This is where the shoot becomes a portfolio. I cull, process, and edit every selected image, including color correction, exposure work, and retouching. You'll receive a proof sheet to make your final selections from, with delivery of completed images, usually within 2 weeks. Additional retouching beyond the standard package is available on request.

Based on Bainbridge Island, serving Seattle

I live on Bainbridge Island, thirty-five minutes by ferry from downtown Seattle. I photograph projects throughout Seattle, the Eastside, Tacoma, and across Kitsap County. If your project is in the Pacific Northwest, let's talk. I’m also available outside of the PNW.
